Logic Stage
Logic (7-8)
In the logic stage, students learn to ask thoughtful questions, recognize structure, examine arguments, and apply orderly reasoning across subjects.
Literature
Students become familiar with the common cultural consensus of the Western world and gain understanding of great ideas expressed through literature. They learn to appreciate the beauty of language and literature.
History
Students learn to discern the major forces and turning points that have shaped history, study influential leaders and figures, and gain wisdom from the past while cultivating strong character for the future.
Logic
Students learn formal logic, including syllogism and propositions, and informal logic, including informal fallacies. They learn to apply logic to new information and value clear reasoning.
Math
Students master basic mathematics and solve complex equations with single and multiple variables. They learn proofs in Geometry and solve problems using trigonometric functions.
Sciences
Students gain understanding of general science, biology, anatomy and physiology, marine biology, chemistry, and physics while becoming acquainted with inductive reasoning through the scientific method.
Classical Language (Latin)
Students gain greater understanding of English grammar, learn modern foreign languages more quickly, master English, and read great works of antiquity in the original language.
Modern Foreign Language
Students who study Spanish or French learn to communicate with people of other nationalities, master grammar and syntax, and appreciate literature and culture in that language.
