Our History

Veritas Collegiate Academy is a classical Christian school committed to the classical Trivium. Its central purpose is to assist parents in the education of their children.

The academy was established in 2003 in Chesapeake, Virginia, by Sean and Maria Elgut. Seeking a high-performing Christian school for their five children, they were inspired by an emerging Classical Christian pedagogy.

In 2012, Veritas Chesapeake was approved to provide I-20 Visa applications to international students by the U.S. State Department. In 2015, Veritas Collegiate Academy partnered with educational entrepreneur Mr. Leon Xie and opened its first international campus in Beijing, China.

Further international expansion followed with campuses in Hungary and China. The history of the EEC campus reflects Veritas' dedication to classical Christian education locally and globally, with academic excellence and Christian values at the center.
